Ha
Long Bay, located in the Gulf of Tonkin, covers a area
of 1500 square km. With more than a thousand limestone
peaks soaring from its crystalline emerald water this
area is one of the natural wonders of Vietnam, and now
a World Heritage listed site. Visitors have constantly
marvel at Ha Long Bays' natural beauty. The tiny
islands are dotted with innumerable beaches and
grottoes created by the wind and the waves that make a
excellent backdrop for swimming or just lazing about
on the boat deck. This trip combines a visit to this
eighth world wonder with a exploration of Cat Ba
Island, over half of, which was declared a National
Park.
ITINERARY
Day
1: Hanoi - Ha Long Bay (Lunch, Dinner included)
This morning we will depart Hanoi at 0800 for a
four-hour drive through the Red River Delta to Ha Long
City. On the way we will stop for refreshments and a
chance to buy hand made souvenirs at a handicraft
center run for disabled peoples. Upon arriving in Ha
Long City we transfer to our private boat for a cruise
of the crystalline emerald waters of Ha Long Bay,
giving us the chance to take in the stunning scenery
of this World Heritage Site. While on board we will
have a sumptuous fresh, local seafood lunch followed
by a swim and exploring some of the limestone caves in
this area. Our final destination for today is Cat Ba
Island where we overnight.
Day
2: Cat Ba Island - Hai Phong - Hanoi (Breakfast,
Lunch included)
Today we spend the morning exploring the Cat Ba
National Park and the old military hospital cave. In
the afternoon we board a hydrofoil or the local ferry
for our trip to the port city of Hai Phong. Here we
transfer to our vehicle for a 2-hour journey back to
Hanoi.
